In 2000 so many bands were influenced by NIN. Halo in Reverse was just about the best of the bunch. Oh. It is still Sunday evening 22:11. But, going back in time. Back to the 80s and that Peel session, the band that really, really made an impression on me was Loop. I have memories of wondering around on the Clee hills in fog, trying to construct a labyrinth listening to Loop. I needed to make a symbolic path into the land of the dead, possibly my first journeying ceremony. But it defeated me. Too cold, too much fog. Couldn't find enough of the right sized stones. It ended up being a 'Chartres type painted on the garage floor. The discipline of memorizing each of the twists and turns! Correspondence with Jeff Saward followed, and coping with the alarm my labyrinth caused others. My destiny was set - I'm not going to blame Loop, but I am grateful...and to Peel of course!
