While many of the initial problems disappeared with the spiritualists’ visits, they seemed to have been replaced by the visual manifestations – apparitions that were infinitely more terrifying than what had gone before. It was rarely that Bill or Liz saw them full on. Sometimes they were only glimpses out of the corner of the eye or shapes seen at a distance among the thick foliage around the house. Shapes. Figures. They would come from nowhere and disappear just as quickly.
